Dog locked in vehicle outside Taco Bell on West Main Street

By Billie Owens

A dog is locked inside a vehicle outside the Taco Bell restaurant at 413 W. Main St., Batavia, according to a caller to dispatch. City police are responding. It's 83 degrees outside, according to National Weather Service. Dispatch says its 75.

According to information compiled by DFPS from various national sources, if the outside temperature is 75 degrees the temperature inside your car can reach 100 degrees in 10 minutes. On days like we've been having at 100 degrees outside the temperature inside your car can be 140 degrees and reached in just 15 minutes!

Every freakin day....some moron leaves their pet in the car. I say let's start fining these idiots-let's say $1000 first violation,no ifs, ans,or buts, plus animal control takes possession of the animal until the fine is paid, and the fine goes ENTIRELY to the animal shelter...that might start putting this stupidity into perspective for these people.

OK, Timothy, you've managed to arouse my curiosity.
Who should ge given the milk? The dispatcher, the responding police officer, or the dog?
I vote the DOG!

Yeah, Howard. I figured the same thing when I first read it. I just couldn't let the chance for some 'humor' to pass.
Again, apparently, I failed.

And, I figured that if/when Tim explained it, I was prepared to tell him about a comment I made a couple weeks ago.

I left a comment, shortly after your recent website 'upgrade', informing you that, when I was reading a post and signed in to make a comment on the post I was reading, the site took me to a different, random story. I figured Tim probably did the same thing. He was probably reading the 'milk' story, signed in, and was re-routed to the Taco Bell dog story.

As I never sent you a direct email about that 'glitch', I've only myself to blame for your not receiving it. Sometimes I forget that you probably don't have time to read each and every comment. Next time, if I notice something I think should be brought to your attention (like this comment), I will email you directly.

Milk or no milk, I wouldn't let my upstairs, sideways or downstairs neighbor have a key to my place. I'd save that for close friends and family.
