Re-elect Kermit Arrington Le Roy Town Justice

My name is  Kermit Arrington.  I am running for my 6th term as Le Roy Town Justice. I am a lifelong LeRoyan and have dedicated 56 years to LeRoy municipal government. After graduating from LeRoy High School I served in WWII in the 758th 64th Tank Division and also did a stint in the military police.  I spent 34 years working at the Le Roy department of Public Works supervising that department the last 20 years of my career.  After retiring I was hired as a special investigator for Jones Chemical where I worked for ten years.

In 1989 I was given the  award of Le Royan of the Year.  I am very proud of this achievement and have served on the steering committee to seek and elevate this prestigious award.  I have spent my life dedicated to sports in Le Roy; umpiring and refereeing baseball and football from the Little League and Tyro , through the high school  and college level. For many years I was the quarterback of the semi-pro All Le Roy football team The safety and well being of our youth have always been a deep concern of mine.  I am a lifelong member of the Excelsior Hook and Ladder and  volunteer fire department where I served as Foreman for a term.  My other associations include Rochester Football Officials Assoc., WNY District Umpires Assoc., WNY Superintendent Assoc. , American Water Works Assoc.

My service as the LeRoy Town Justice began over 20 years ago when I won my first election to the bench.  I hear almost 1600 cases per year. The Le Roy Town Court is self supporting and brings in revenue to offset the town budget.  As a sitting judge, I look at both sides of each case as the Constitution requires.  I  consider myself to be fair and above reproach.  I am a member in good standing of the Genesee County Magistrates Association and the American Judges Association.

With your support I will continue to see to it that justice is served in the Le Roy court.

Judge Arrington is a fantastic judge and a wonderful man. He is honest, hard working and dedicated and has served LeRoy untiringly, both as an elected official and as a volunteer, for many years.

Although I haven't lived in LeRoy in a long time, my first job as a paralegal was working for a law firm in LeRoy and in all of the cases we had in front of Judge Arrington, he was always conscientious and fair.

Good Luck Judge Arrington.

I recently met Judge Arrington at a function in Geneseo. I was so impressed by him and by the admiration and respect he received from those attending.

Best of luck in the election, Judge Arrington.

Judge Arrington can be seen each and every day out and about in Le Roy -- from breakfast at Scooters, lunch at LB Grand, or cruising through town in his shiny blue Cadillac. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't at least see him in passing. He is part of the very fabric of the community. I am honored and privileged to call him a friend and am proud to vote for him tomorrow as I have in his other elections.

Can't vote for Judge Arrington, I don't live in LeRoy - but I can agree with all the above comments and say that Kermit is a humble person, and a TRUE gentleman.

If I lived in Leroy Kermit, you know you would definitely have my vote! Not only do I think you’re a fantastic judge, but a terrific man as well. Leroy has been blessed to have you as their judge, and I hope they continue to support you by re-electing you into office.

Good Luck to you today my dear friend.

This is one of those instances I've referred to in the past. I do not care what this man's party affiliation is...HE HAS MY VOTE, as he has had since I moved back to western ny. If he ran on any line, he would win!
I feel fortunate that I know Kermit on a personal level, and look forward to seeing him at the football games, or out and about. Always a smile and a kind word.
I encourage all citizens to get out and vote today. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and it's great to be an American!

Judge Arrington is a nice guy...but come on... this should be about justice and doing what is right for the community. He has had a good run but at 80 something years old is just a bit long in the tooth for the job. He can still drive about town in his "shiny blue Caddy" ( cool reference!) and still be a friend to all if he is not the judge. His opponent is quite sharp and was a great police chief. Seems like time for a change. Including myself, it seems like a lot of the folks posting her do not live in LeRoy. Not our game I guess. Not trying to be mean, the guy is an icon, but I hear he is carried quite a bit by his court clerks.

So are you saying that Louise Slaughter is too old too? She's not 80 but she's not young either. How old or how young should not make a difference as long as they can do the job correctly.

Are those court clerk's in the room telling him how he should rule in a case? No, of course not. I don't know of any court that could get along without court clerks and other staff.

Their job is to assist the Judge and that is what they do. Remember there are two judges and Kermit picks up the other Judge's cases while he is on vacation to Florida for the winter. He is no slouch.

Kermit is not 80 yet..close, but not there. And I would like to think he's as sharp today as he was 20 years ago when first elected. I am sure the chief would make a fair judge, no question. But that won't be happening this year. That seat will become available when Kermit decides to retire.

You're right Bud - I just talked to Kermit a few months ago and he was as sharp as ever.

Dave, where do you get your information on the Le Roy courts? Just wondering. I also read your comment about Rose Mary that you posted today. You seem to be coming from an "inside baseball" perspective yet Rose Mary doesn't know you and neither does Kermit.

Kermit is as sharp as a tack. Anyone that spends any amount of time with him, and I do, knows that. And let me tell you -- that Caddy does sparkle.
