Sallome's Deli closed

By Philip Anselmo

Sad news for local gastronomes: Sallome's Deli in Batavia is dark. The Oak Street eatery has been closed up since at least last week. A sign on the door simply reads: "Closed until further notice," and a number is given where customers are encouraged to leave a message. We called that number and left a message. Anyone with a gift certificate is encouraged to call the same number (201-7300) and leave an address where a refund can be mailed.

Sallome's opened up this past summer.

We will keep you informed of any updates.

I very much enjoyed Sallome's. The food was excellent and it was right around the corner from my house.

I'm sad. I hope Mr. Sallome logs on and tells us if he is going reopen.

Strictly my opinion (but with a lot of business experience to support it), if they are issuing refunds on gift certificates it sounds unlikely they're going to re-open any time soon.

Best hot subs in the city, I can only hope they re-open soon. Having only worked my way through half the subs on the list, ummmm the Dom was great! and the wings were made to order the way you like them.
This nice clean establishement will be missed at my house :(

We have bought food a couple of times from the business and were extremely pleased. We looked forward to walking there in the warmer months to get a sub and some stuffed peppers - which were absolutely delicious. I hope that they are able to re-open and hang in there a while, giving more folks an opportunity to taste their offerings. I was sad to hear that they were closed.
