Two men were arrested today for allegedly trespassing at the Rolling Hills Asylum in the Town of Bethany, according to State Police, following an investigation of an incident that occurred on Sept. 15.
Arrested where Andrew E. Cox, 18, of Gainsville, and 18-year-old Timothy E. Rafferty, of Pike. They were cooperative during the investigation and will appear in the Town of Bethany Court at a later date, State Police said.
On Sept. 15, employees of Rolling Hills Asylum reported seeing subjects walking on property that was clearly posted. The employees were able to produce a photo of the license plate of a vehicle used by the suspects.
Rolling Hills Asylum does conduct tours of their buildings and grounds, but does so by appointment only. The property is clearly posted and an informational sign is posted at the front of the building. People are not permitted to simply walk out onto the property or into the buildings without an appointment, according to State Police, who say they are concerned about ongoing trespass complaints there.

Good..... its about damn time too. I had known the last two owners of Rolling Hills in the last 10 yrs. The current one was introduced to me by phone when she first purchased the bldg in auction from the bank. It truly is amazing how many people think it's ok to trespass there. In the first few months of her ownership I was there constantly fixing and repairing from break ins, even came across people there who had the attitude that because it was "apparently" empty that they had the right to trespass at will. Hopefully now with the electricy restored and it being slowly brought back from it's abandonedment it will be respected more, otherwise alot more arrests will be forthcoming. Well deserved ones too. Congrats to Sharon for standing her ground to these bullies and tresspassers.

With paranormal claims today, it's hard to tell which are hoaxes and which are involving actual demons. Either way, it doesn't hurt to be reminded that "paranormal" is actually meaning, well, occult. Personally I'll steer clear and I would suggest that others steer clear of this sort of tourist attraction. Why would you want to give evil spirits a foothold into your life?

the conjuring and manipulation of supernatural Influences, agencies, or phenomena for one’s own purposes and gain; creatures that have both human and non-human form and characteristics or beings with paranormal (psychic) powers who call upon some strange god(s) to fill themselves with special supernatural powers. People who are normal but can change into a different being by calling upon an element in nature (air, fire, earth, water, ethers)
Nothing is evil about paranormal at all. Miracles and such are also deemed as paranormal as well. Spiritual survival of death is something that we can never know is possible til we experience it. Belief in God also means we must accept the exsistance in the demonic as well. But for every story of evil hauntings we also have accounts of loved ones visiting to re-assure or communicate an important message or even protect someone by warning them. God's gift to mankind was free will, theres nothing in the Bible or religion that says he takes that away after we pass on. There is also the echoes of the past that arent anything more than "recordings" in places where traumatic things have occured. Environment and a person's sensitivity can come together to manifest these, like witnessing a re-enactment of a revolutionary or civil war battle, or a murder at a murder scene.
In paranornal investigations (real ones not the TV version), thats the first thing you do is determine if it's something that is active and aware, or just a repetition of a past event. Attending a spot like this is no different or no more risk of entertaining evil spirits than walking through a place that has been the site of a battle, or a murder scene.
Paranormal and the Occult are about as similar in meaning as Politics and Justice.
People who associate the two are just using ignorance either their own or those of their audience to make investigating paranormal phenomena akin to devil worship or witchcraft or sorcery or something else as evil or distasteful. Twisting of perceptions to delude people to make a conclusion that isnt based on factual information.
