Little girls plead for return of their cat, who had just given birth to three kittens

By Billie Owens

Please! Please! Please! Ella Grace and her two sisters are very sad. Their new cat Syler is missing and was picked up near their home on Raymond Road, across from the Genesee County Park in mid to late July.

Syler just had three kittens, who now have no mother. Syler wants to come home.

Please find it in your heart to return her, no questions asked. You stopped at our neighbor's home but he did not realize that she was ours. Our whole family misses her dearly.

UPDATE 11:20 a.m., Tuesday: Syler has just arrived home. Syler was found July 27 on Lovers Lane by Jack Mirrione. Mirrione, a Byron resident, said the cat was in "pretty bad shape" he found her. Somebody had taped all four of her legs together and two of her legs were still taped when he found her. A skunk had sprayed her. He took the cat home and cleaned her up and fed her and was taking care of her when he saw this post and called Syler's family.

Posted to Facebook and the Genesee County Lost and found pets group. I can't believe that whoever took her did not notice that she was suckling babies. So sad. :(

What unbelieveable cruelty. Someone had NOTHING better to do with their day. My days are often to short to do the things I would like to do, and this monster finds the time to inflict such torture and cruelty on a helpless animal. Thats a frightening and evil mind frame if you ask me.

I am so glad this family was reunited with their sweet cat, what a relief for all. And what a truly good man Jack is for taking the time to help and care for the cat.

Jack Mirrione.... I'm glad that you found poor Syler and took care of her. You are truly a Man among men for doing this instead of just seeing and passing by an animal in distress.

Hopefully Syler will re-adjust to family life in the care of her people and forget this cruelty. If she is anything like my girls then love is all she needs...

Ed you are right, there is no end to "mans inhumanity to anything" But for every one of them there is also a man like Jack. Our hope lies in those between these two extremes, and their migration to the place where Jack and hopefully the rest of us reading this are.

Well I hope they try to find out who did this, perhaps the neighbor will remember what the people look like that stopped by his house?

Nothing but a bunch of sick perverted people I tell you. So glad she is home with her babies and thank God for people like Mr. Mirrione that take the time to care of the defenseless that can't take of themselves.
