Today's Poll: Do you follow professional boxing?

I have always loved to watch boxing, but I'm not sure why people are willing to have their block knocked off. Listen to an ex boxer talk, and the brain damage from repeated head blows is striking (no pun intended). The same goes for MMA. I love watching it, but no matter how good the fighter, someone eventually comes along and take you down, usually brutally and without pause. The cauliflower ears, broken bones, repeated concussions, and sometimes death make it a spectator only sport for me!

Edit: I like boxing because it really is a technical exercise. Watch good fighter at something less than real speed, and you can see how they set up a series of combinations, or how they can set up their attack and literally get beat to the punch. It's fascinating to watch.

Check out this video at about the 1:56 mark and you'll see Mike knock the guy out, and also duck a punch at the same time. Watch the last fight scene, and you'll see Mike duck two punches, and then crush the opponent with a precise shot to the liver. That's not luck, that's the skill of a man you do not want to fight. He was a superb fighting machine. The man was a BEAST! He has his flaws, but watching him fight in his prime was a humbling experience.
