Stroll, twist, and jive your way to "Let's Go To The Hop!", an old-fashioned sock hop dance organized by Notre Dame High School, the Batavia Peace Garden, and the ARC of Genesee and Orleans Counties.

Slick back your hair, put on your poodle skirts, and put on your dancing shoes! Prizes will be awarded to the best dressed and to the best dancers! And what's a sock hop without having it in a gym? Student volunteers from Notre Dame High School will be decorating the gymnasium with a 1950s theme.

Live music will be provided by The Union Blues, playing all of your favorite hits from the 50s and 60s, including songs by Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, the Beach Boys, Sam Cooke, BuddyHolly, Bill Haley and the Comets, and much more!

In addition, the ARC culinary program will have a buffet of 50s food: root beer floats, hamburgers, soft pretzels, and more for just $5.00 per person. All proceeds from the buffet will benefit ARC programs.

Tickets to the dance are $10.00 general admission and $5.00 for anyone eighteen and under. They can be purchased at the Batavia and Albion locations of the ARC, the Holland Land Office Museum in Batavia, from any Peace Garden volunteer or member of The Union Blues. Ticket sales are limited to the first 400 people! For more information, call 585-757-2451.

You won't want to miss this opportunity to experience the nostalgia of summer nights, juke boxes, ice cream sodas, and some great dancing music!
