ROC the Day

With Care-A-Van Ministries

On December 8th, our community will come together to ROC the Day, and Care-A-Van Ministries hopes to make it a huge success.  ROC the Day is a 24-hour giving opportunity to support all eligible not-for-profits in the nine-county Greater Rochester area.

Community members are encouraged to visit ROCtheDay.org, a secure on-line giving platform, to contribute to any participating not-for-profit organization.  All money given on December 8th stays local.  Donors have the ability to make an impact by giving to one or more multiple organizations to support their personal philanthropic passions.  We hope we are one of yours.

CARE-A-VAN MINISTRIES, INC.

For the last decade, Care-A-Van Ministries has been going forward into the Batavia community, to complete the work of the Lord.  We believe that the Lord has given Care-A-Van Ministries a mandate to bring the work and the word of God to the physically and spiritually needy of Batavia, New York.

Care-A-Van Ministries is a local missions field!  Through the financial support of individuals and various churches and with the assistance of volunteers, Care-A-Van has been able to serve thousands of needy people in the City of Batavia.  Monthly the ministry visits four different neighborhoods to provide comfort, support, food, clothing and prayer to those in need. On average 30 – 60 families per week receive food packages and obtain much-needed clothing for their families.

Every weekday morning, except Friday, the Care-A-Van bus visits different areas of the city with local pastors to provide ministerial comfort and prayer to those in need.  During the winter months, on Thursday evenings the bus goes into the community to bring prayer and a snack to those who come on board.

Every Thursday night during the summer, the ministry provides a full meal through a cookout that serves 25 – 100 people each time.  This meal may be one of the few hot meals many of the area children receive during the summer school break. For many of the elderly who attend, it is also a vital weekly meal.

Add this to the Christmas program, Easter dinner, Halloween outreach, GCC college dorms monthly visitations, Picnic in the Park, and Caring for the City Day, Care-A-Van Ministries is out in the community doing the Lord’s work.

We are asking you, our Facebook followers and newsletter recipients and community to consider not only supporting this ministry, but others you may find on December 8th.

Remember, for a donation of $10 from every Care-A-Van follower, $8000.00 could be added to the financial support of the ministry.  Can you afford $10 on December 8th to support Care-A-Van….we hope so!!!!  Your donation of $10 or more will stay local and meet the needs of your local community.
