Wellness hour at ILGR: Pharmacist speaks on ‘Understanding Prescriptions’

“The Wellness Hour” Free Informational Seminars  Through August, the premier consumer-run disability service organization serving Genesee, Orleans and Wyoming counties, Independent Living of the Genesee Region (ILGR), is holding “The Wellness Hour” a series of three FREE classes to help the whole community to live healthier. Taking place from 10 to 11 a.m. every other Tuesday in August at the ILGR office, 113 Main St. (at Center Street), Suite 5, Batavia, the series of Informational talks is designed to expand participants’ awareness of tools that can promote wellness. — Aug. 15th: A Pharmacist from Alberty Drugs (to be designated by co-owner Kevin Casey), “Understanding Prescriptions” Advice on the “dos” and “don’ts” of taking medications, and when you should have concerns.  Questions from the attendees are welcome. — Aug. 29th: Patricia Hawley, an Instructor at Blue Pearl Yoga in Batavia, “Chair Yoga and Simple Stretches” Introductory exercises that would be effective for people with or without disabilities. ILGR stresses that the information shared is not intended to replace a doctor’s instructions. You should always consult with your physician or health care provider before beginning any new treatment.
