Woodward Memorial Library (WML) invites the public to celebrate the opening of their renovated Children’s Room on Saturday, April 29.  The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Speakers at the ceremony are Assemblyman Steve Hawley and Tom Bindeman, director of the NIOGA Library System. An open house will follow the ceremony until 4 p.m. The renovation features a bright, child-friendly design, interactive play spaces, reading nooks, and a hidden entrance to a new program room.  Other features of the new Children’s Room are comfortable furniture for parents and children, Lego and train discovery tables, a puppet theater and interactive learning materials designed to stimulate young minds. “Our goal is for the Woodward Memorial Library Children’s Room to become a destination that children and their parents visit frequently. With open-ended activities to engage children ages birth through 12 and their parents, `Read, Play and Stay Awhile’ is our new motto,” said Library Director Sue Border.
