It was a rockin' good time at the Alexander Tractor Pull on Saturday night, including a performance by the band Red Creek. The show marked the 40th anniversary of Fran Norton, a drummer and Alexander resident, playing with the band, perhaps the longest run by a musician with a single band in Genesee County.

WOW... 40 years for Fran. Yea, that might be the record? Congrats my friend.

I played with Red Creek for a while before Fran joined. The band originator, Roger Waite was one of my most dear personal friends, sadly he died too young.

Another of your fellow band members, one of my very good friends also passed away too early Brian... Bob Hayes. I don't think "Purple" ever played with Red Creek but I know for a while he was a member of another band you were in. He wasn't a band member at the time, but you guys ended up playing late with an encore session at my wedding reception in 82... that was one hell of a party!

Not long ago myself and another south end Oakfield-ite were sharing memories of the mid 60's during our pre-driver's license days... riding our bikes up to the Rec pond during the summer & hanging out with Bob at his family's cottage brought back some great ones!
