Investigation into police officer weapon discharge closed
While making further inquiries into the reported unintended discharge of a police officer firearm April 22, Chief Shawn Heubusch informed us that the investigation into the matter has been closed.
I will not be releasing any further details other than to say that the investigation has been completed and that there was no criminal negligence in this matter. The matter has been dealt with as a personnel issue.
The Batavian has issued a FOIL request to the city for the incident documents. The City has five days to acknowledge the request.
"The Batavian has issued a FOIL request to the city for the incident documents."
Good move, Howard. They seem overly tight-lipped about what's probably just an embarrassing incident. I'll be anxious to see what's to follow.
good move howard and thank you.
however I do believe that if the city does honor your request you will receive a document that is censored to the point that it is worthless.
the sooner we all realize and accept the fact that the police are above our laws and do NOT answer to us the better.
remember what I told you about law enforcement school, the students are taught that there are three kinds of people, number one is police officer, number two is peace officer and number three is civilian.
Excellent job Howard- putting in for the FOIL. Love it !!
Amen david!! I don't see why people gave you a thumbs down you spoke the truth...why are people so blind to see it? They must be connected to the corrupt police we have around its sad..we might as well use the constituiton for toliet paper.you people that voted him thumbs down are iggnorant and dumb...I hope you enjoy being programmed.
Pending further information from the PD, I'm not going to comment further on this incident (has a familiar ring, doesn't it?).
I do want to distance myself from any police bashing. As a former police officer, I've always been impressed with the quality and professionalism of our three local police agencies and I have no reason to doubt that assessment.
I didn't mean to bash the police most of our sherieffs are very professiona.for some reason most of the state troopers don't. It makes me sad how they are.
Don't worry, Curtis.... There's no way *anybody* could interpret your comment of "They must be connected to the corrupt police we have around ..." as an attempt to bash the police.
Well we all perceive things differnt don't we? Saying something true isn't bashing them..am I wrong to voice my opinion? You can ask any lawyer gensee county does it how they want to not how the law is susposed to enforced. If your too blind to see it keep your comments to yourself please I wasn't asking to be critized.
And I'm sorry if I came off like that I really am I can't afford to be harassed
