New Hochul spot defends record, attacks Corwin

By Howard B. Owens

Press Release:

ERIE COUNTY – Kathy Hochul, candidate for New York’s 26th Congressional District, today released a new television advertisement.

The 30-second spot, entitled “The Truth,” responds to misleading attacks made against Hochul in one of her opponent’s most recent TV ads.

“Jane Corwin has once again chosen to literally leave out half the story in her most recent television ad – distorting Kathy’s remarkable record of fighting for Western New Yorkers,” said Fabien Levy, communications director for Kathy Hochul. “Kathy Hochul saved Erie County residents over $200,000 when a new federal program came down on us from Washington.  Meanwhile, Albany politician Jane Corwin is playing political games by saying she supports budget cuts, and then voting against them.”

The campaign also included three supporting documents (all three files are PDF):

Well, Bea, Corwin is busy getting fake Tea Party endorsements and refusing to tell anyone where she'll be campaigning. It's easier to say nothing publicly when no one ever sees you in public

Jack Davis is avoiding contact with actual voters at all costs just like he always does.

Murphy is looking for new and interesting places to wear his tri-corner hat and make fun of Corwin.

Kathy Hochul opened her campaign offices in Greece this morning and in Erie County (Williamsville, I think) this afternoon, and she was visiting various diners along the way. She seems very eager to get out and meet voters all around the district.

Chris, Jack Davis hosted a party Thursday night at Brennan's on Transit in Clarence that was advertised and press announcements went out last week. Murphy the Green Party candidate went to Corwin's mini coranation organized by Rus Thompson to confer an endorsement from his Tea Party organization that he claimed Friday is not an organization at all and that his non-oragnization voted unanamously to endorse the Republican Jane Corwin Thursday night....and that Ian Murphy was there but Rus Thompson of the non-organization barred hime from the candidates forum because he is not serious....to be fair I thought Murphy's outfit would have fit in at a political event, much the same as flags and bunting...it's a first amendment thing with me...a candidates forum sould include all of the candidates not just the ones you like or support. You support Kathy Hochul, I support Jack Davis, I would be very dissapointed to learn that a group of Democrats would seek to exclude any candidate on a ballot because the organizer of the event didn't think they are serious or of a different party.

Bea, I emailed Kathy 2 weeks ago about her entire platform and didn't hear back from her. I emailed again a week ago and someone from her campaign emailed back with a link to her website. Her website has not changed and does not include her stand on many issues that she will be representing in Washington. Since you are involved in the Democratic party perhaps you would have better luck getting an answer. I can't be the only one curious as to where she stands on all issues.

All issues covers a lot of ground. Did you get answers on ALL issues from Corwin and Davis? Would you like to give the list of ALL issues and I'll pass it along and see what answers we can get.

Kathy is reaching out to voters at small businesses across this district with an energy and enthusiasm that I've never seen before. When Mary Margaret sent me a picture from her phone, I texted back and asked if her and Scott were at the grand opening of the new Greece office (which would have surprised me since Mary Margaret is pretty non partisan/nonpolitical). I was totally and completely surprised that Kathy was actually back in LeRoy visiting more small businesses on her way through to Greece.

Her grand opening at the Williamsville office, which a couple of us attended, had well over 100 very enthused people on hand. Many that I have never met before in political circles. Her staff said that people are coming in to volunteer that have never worked on a campaign before. People that want to do what ever they can to help send their County Clerk to Washington.

Expect to see a lot of Kathy Hochul in the next few weeks.

Bea, I've already heard enough of Davis and Corwin to know that they are NOT getting my vote. I am researching all other candidates. I am mainly interested in Kathy's stand on life (beginning of and end of) and marriage. If elected, she will undoubtedly be casting votes on these issues.

I knew a guy who paid me a dollar a day to deliver his paper route even though he earned two dollars a day for the job. I used that insider information to pull a similar scam on my sisters when I got a paper route of my own, but I paid them half as much. They were girls, and my sisters, they would have done it for free. The point is, I have been creating jobs since I was twelve just like Ms. Corwin. You can't vote for me but please vote for Ian Murphy and pretend it is me. Man, that would be so cool. Vicarious votes are the best kind and Ian is a real person I can relate to. Smart is scary, but it is very seldom dangerous.
