Taking in a stray isn't petit larceny unless she refused to give the dog back after being reimbursed for food and care. Is there no leash law in Badoggia?

Sounds like a trumped up charge to me, unless this woman had tried to steal this dog before or... Wasnt very smart and told everyone she wanted that particular dog. I mean how do you define taking posession? Does this mean if I take in a stray cat and make no attempt to find the owner I can be arrested? Seems to me there are other crimes in Albion that would require more attention.

I was curious about this case yesterday -- wondering in particular if one of those micro chips played a role at all.

No, but here's what Chief Gordon Dibble wrote to me: "The dog owner had a suspicion that an acquaintance (defendant) had taken the dog. Our deputies interviewed the suspect who admitted to the theft and turned over the dog."

I went to school with this girl and I don't think that she would have took the dog from someone unless it was being abused but then again it has been 11 12years since I have seen her
