Power outage in Indian Falls

By Howard B. Owens

Nearly 40 National Grid customers are without power along Phelps Road, Indian Falls, after a power line was knocked down.

A fire chief who responded reports it appears that a semi-truck knocked the line down.

The area includes a trailer park that is without power.

National Grid estimates power will be restored by 11:45 a.m.

Yea..it was a semi headed west on Phelps road. It clipped a low hanging cable line that snapped back almost 50 feet and shook the poles hard enough to pop a breaker somewhere down the line..national grid and time warner had it fixed and working again in under an hour from when the break happened. My thing is...didnt the semi driver notice the low hanging cable and the loud pop sound, and the poles damn near breaking from the swaying? Must not, cause he kept on driving. My power is back on, and a neighbor gave a description of the truck...hopfully they catch the careless moron.
