Today's Poll: Do you believe members of Congress represent the people?

By Howard B. Owens

One look at these results should lead an intelligent human-being to change this! I'm on board, but I feel so all alone...

Too many people just want to make sure they get to vegetate in front of "Dancing with the Stars!" They belong to the 'other camp'. They will just 'follow the leader' to the 'showers'...

As of the time of this posting, the the results show 23 of our friends and neighbors that responded are drunk, drugged, or unbelievably naive.

Or maybe they're liberals - but that would be redundant....

Ok Ok Ok Now I am on the same political side as you but there is no reason for calling liberals drunk drugged and naive. The reason our country was founded was so that people could be free to believe and practice what they wanted without persecution and ridicule. SO BE NICE!

Sara…not only is that comment insulting to “liberals” (sideways smiley notwithstanding) but also the 25 people who chose to vote yes. Who would want to post a comment supporting an opinion that has already been devalued and ridiculed?

Sara, we have the right to expect to be free from persecution for our political beliefs, but not ridicule. If you are going to express a political opinion, you should be ready to stand up to the ridicule - even when it comes from heartless, selfish, and ignorant opponents.

Or from conservatives...but I suppose THAT would be redundant, too.

:D

Geeze, sensitive people. I was laughing when I wrote that.

If you always have to be serious and not enjoy a little good natured humor, too bad for you.

And Brandon, I KNOW democrats never ridicule republicans, liberals never berate conservatives, or progressives speak poorly of tea party people. When THEY say something it's always constructive and enlightening, right?

Another :)

Bob, I was serious only about what I wrote regarding ridicule. If you state an opinion, you should understand that you need to be prepared for ridicule.

I didn't take any offense at what you wrote about liberals. I practice what I preach. I just said what I said to keep things fair and balanced.

Get it? Fair and balanced?
