Today's Poll: Do you think Obama is a natural born citizen?

By Howard B. Owens

They didn't refer to the black race as Africans back in 1961 - they still used the word Negro. How stupid does he & his backers think we are????

As I believe Obama said, it’s become quite the circus or carnival -- and it remains so. The birthers are not done yet. They took the one first .pdf posted yesterday on the web & when opened w/ Acrobat Pro they found it consisted of multiple .pdf elements, like it was pieced together. Same people now claim the one currently posted does not do this, as a plain scanned image should. White House supposedly fixed their error. Some spook is probably now packing his bags to finish his career in an Arctic listening post.
…… At least, so they say… LOL. Gotta love the Internet.

I really wish people would give this up already, it's getting really old, boring and as the president himself said it, it is taking away from the REAL issues in this country, as in the economy, the rising of gas prices, among other things.

If it isn't real, it won't be the first time the government has lied to us and it won't be the last.

The election was three years ago people and he is still in office so I don't think proving that it is not real is going to change anything in the next year, and look at who would take over if it did.....Biden.

Put more concentration on the next Presidential election if you think the birth certificate is fake and promote who you want in office.

Where ignorance is bliss....knowledge is shear folly.

I sincerly hope that the birther conspiracy advocates keep it up, it's the side show that truly illustrates a racist bent in our society that is embraced by the leaders of the Republican party. The GOP that gave us Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan has put is self on a fast track o go the way of the Whigs embracing the cast of clowns it now calls leaders.

Laura,
For what it is worth, McCain was born on a military base in a US territory, his father being in the Navy. The military bases in territories are considered the same as the US mainland.

"How stupid does he & his backers think we are?"
Tom, I think he gives your kind way more credit than you are due. We are truly living in the age of stupid.

John,

Actually, it was not a US territory at the time of McCain's birth ... though Congress did make it a territory a few years after McCain's birth and retroactively declared babies born there U.S. citizens. (and note, no member of congress at the time could have known McCain would go into politics, even if they knew about his birth).

Howard,
Thanks. And nobody could have known that Obama was going to be President 40+ years ago. This whole thing is absurd.

I said before, if there was even a little bit of real doubt about where Obama was born, Bill and Hilary Clinton would have found it.

Continued discussion about Obama's being born in the USA is a not-so-polite way of the right wing cracked pots runing the Republican party....did I write runing I meant running the the Republican party. Now that a copy of the long form birth certificate ahs been made available the conspiracy theorists that tail that wags the dog of a born again Republican party are right back at challenging its authenticity. It's a real shame that these clowns weren't as vocal or determined when Bush and Cheney put out the big lies that they spoon fed the public to start a war and invade Iraq...oh, wait they were right there with on the same page repeating the lies verbatum at every opportunity salivating at the chance to go to war.

I accidentally hit the preset for 'The Lake,' while driving home last night and two time-wasters were discussing this desperate situation. I sure hope those two worked it out. ...Talk about closing the barn door after the horse got out! I think Congress should simply pass one law defining 'American.' You know: annual salary > $200,000, speaks English, male, heterosexual, contributing member of GOP, Christian (protestant), White and wears pants at the waist.

It would eliminate further debate.

While we are on the subject of mega-issues, by what right can some Pennsylvania corporation (Entercom Communications Co.) waltz into WNY and obsolete the most listenable radio station? ...Because it competed with one of their existing stations (WCMF)? Doesn't the FCC insist on some form of local base for licensing and ownership?

I don't know what is worse- taking The Lake off the air or simulcasting WBEN talk radio in its place?! Regardless- I think a gang of us WNYers should drive down to Catbox, Pa and teach those outsiders a lesson in geopolitics...

CM, I was a huge Lake fan, too. Totally disappointed. I really miss the acoustic sunrise.

The poll results are mind boggling. But, what do the results really say? It says that 260 people living in our area still have not accepted that the black guy got elected. Don't tell me it isn't race.

Afterbirthers Demand To See Obama's Placenta

August 27, 2009 | ISSUE 45•35

http://www.theonion.com/articles/afterbirthers-demand-to-see-obamas-pla…
WASHINGTON–In the continuing controversy surrounding the president's U.S. citizenship, a new fringe group informally known as "Afterbirthers" demanded Monday the authentication of Barack Obama's placenta from his time inside his mother's womb. "All we are asking is that the president produce a sample of his fetal membranes and vessels—preferably along with a photo of the crowning and delivery—and this will all be over," said former presidential candidate and Afterbirthers spokesman Alan Keyes, later adding that his organization would be willing to settle for a half-liter of maternal cord plasma. "To this day, the American people have not seen a cervical mucus plug, let alone one that has been signed and notarized by a state-certified Hawaiian health official. If the president was indeed born in the manner in which he claims, then where is his gestation sac?" Keyes said that if Obama did not soon produce at least a bloody bedsheet from his conception, Afterbirthers would push forward with efforts to exhume the president's deceased mother and inspect the corpse's pelvic bone and birth canal

Bud, my sincere apologies to the Whig party I had no idea that they had been resurected.

Lorie, knowing that Alan Kyes has joined in the pursuit of Obam's origins with an afterbirther goup will require a serious investigation. Can the "Donald" be far behind? By the "Donald" I'm refering to the legendary Trump, self procalimed king of reality TV as opposed to the duck of Disney fame. Although the Disney "Donald" seems far more credible and certainly more likable than either Keyes or Trump both epic social warriors in the vast vacant space that lies between their ears far, far away from the reality as percieved by the rest of the world.

John, anyone who believed Alan Keyes demanded a bloody bedsheet, testament to conception... Well, there's impressionable, gullible, stupid and- what comes after that?

Then, again; didn't Keyes parade around with a bottle containing a human fetus?

John, I guess I assumed that the reader's already knew that the Onion is satire or if the reader is not familiar with the Onion that upon reading they will very quickly realize as much.
