Today's Poll: Should farmers who lost crops to unusual spring weather get federal aid?

Actually this would and should be covered under the Department of Agricultures crop insurance program which requires a federal disaster declaration. Steve Hawley did exactly the right thing here.

Why not....corporations go under...banks go under. The big hearted tax payer foots the bill. We have very broad and strong shoulders.

Richard, Farmers participate in the crop insurance program, that means they pay into it, it is nothing at all akin to corporate bailouts.

Unlike regular insurance, a declaration of disaster must be enacted to put it in place. The federal crop insurance program has been in place since 1938.

I agree with Richard. I voted yes we owe the satisfaction of full bellies to these hard working people. If banks and auto makers can get a bail out it more than makes sense to bail out our farmers. thank one today.
