Today's Poll: What do you think of plans for Batavia Downs to replace its sign?

By Howard B. Owens
Ryan Hasenauer

Hi Folks, first time posting here. I'm the the Director of Marketing at Batavia Downs Casino.

Just letting everyone know that the sign will look exactly the same. Same font script, same iconic shape, same everything.

It’ll just be made of cost saving LEDs rather than the expensive Neon.

I think it`s time to fix the barns up. Some of the walkways are so uneven it is hard to walk down them for the horses and people. Improve the backside a little! All that is ever mentioned in every article in the Daily is about how much the horses cost them and how the horses would not have survived without the slots. That is true but what is never mentioned is the fact that you had to have horseracing on site to get the slots in the first place so there would have never been no slots in the first place without the horses.

Jim,
Every time I go past the back of the track, I cringe. Mr. Provenzano must be turning in his grave.
My office, was an original Genesee Co. Fairgrounds building that saw better days years before I arrived. It was at the back gate. It was later replaced by a block building that is no longer there.
Since I was part of the back lot, I am well aware of how much care the barns received. Even a misplaced nail conveniently pounded into a wall was quickly removed.
While this isn't Mr. Hasenauer's domain, he might be able to mention it to the powers that be.
Jim Nigro, I know, shares many of the memories I have and well remembers the care and upkeep of ALL of the grounds.
