i watched 2-3 cars go through the red light when turning from main street onto bank the other day. good thing i waited...since i had the green light to go...

plus left turn signals from center onto main and bank onto main i think are needed...that is a lot of reason for people going through the red lights at this intersection.

My fathers words of nearly 50 years ago, still ring in my ears, everytime I get behind the wheel. "Just because the light is red, or there is a stop sign, doesn't mean they are going to stop. You have to keep your eyes open all of the time."

Richard, my dad pretty much told me the same thing: Son, just because the light turns green, that doesn't mean you should "go." Look both ways to make sure you're not gonna get clobbered!

Defensive driving isn't called "defensive" for no reason. If someone knows an intersection is difficult to travel through in a certain direction, such as left turns, maybe they should use an alternate route so that they don't need to run lights late.
