Wind advisory issued for tonight

Winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected to hit Genesee County tonight around 10 p.m. and last until 4 a.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Gusts up to 50 mph are possible.

Winds this strong can bring down tree branches and cause isolated power outages.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory from 10 tonight to 4 a.m. Tuesday for parts of Western New York.

The advisory area includes Genesee, Orleans and Wyoming counties, along with Niagara, Monroe, northern and southern Erie and Chautauqua counties.
