Martin J. Murray

Bergen - Martin J. Murray, 86, of Bergen, a retiree of Eastman Kodak passed away Thursday, (September 1, 2016) at the Batavia VA Medical Center, in Batavia.

Mr. Murray was born December 6, 1929 in Hamlin, a son of the late Martin F. and Helen (Tobin) Murray.

Martin served his country honorably with the Army during the Korean War.  He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Parish – St. Brigid’s Church and was an accomplished pilot and was a long time member of the Genesee Pilot's Association.

Surviving are his wife, Lois (Marlow) Nebbia-Murray of Bergen, children, Marlene (Timothy) McGuire of Rochester, Steven (Cynthia) Murray of Indianapolis, IN, John Murray of CA, Michael Murray of Indianapolis, IN, Emily (Stephen) Gloss of Greece; step-children, Leo (Patricia) Nebbia of CA, Michael Nebbia and Kathy Spatola both of Rochester, Laurie (Charles) Lewis of York, Vincent Nebbia of Rochester, and Christine Mansfield of Hilton; daughters-in-law, Annette Murray of Brockport, and Kellie Murray of Rochester; a brother, Gilbert (Patricia) Murray of Hamlin; sisters, Helen (late Andy) Anderson of Churchville, and Irene (Jack) Johnson of Chili; a brother-in-law, Ralph Barbaro of MA.  Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews also survive.

Martin is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary A. Murray who passed away in August of 1996; sons, Mark E. and Martin F. Murray; grandson, Jamie Murray; brothers, William and James Murray; and sisters, Alice Smith, Ethel Barbaro, and Anna Anderson.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 51 South Lake Street, Bergen.  Martin’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the St. Brigid's Church, 18 Gibson Street, Bergen.  Burial, with military honors will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Brockport.
