Alexander Krywy

Alexander Krywy, 84, of Stafford, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 13, 2017.

Alexander was born August 12, 1933 in Batavia, a son of the late Theodore and Anna (Duda) Krywy.

Alexander will be remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit and how he enjoyed telling stories.  He graduated from Batavia High School in 1951.  He served proudly with the United States Marine Corps for three years with an honorable discharge.  Alexander was employed at Lapp Insulator in LeRoy, Gillette Machine & Tool in Rochester and Iroquois Design in Caledonia.

He was a life member of the Stafford Volunteer Fire Department and the Marine Corps League.  He was also a member of the Joint Veterans Honor Guard of Genesee County, American Legion and Loyal Order of the Moose.

Alexander enjoyed volunteering for Toys for Tots and for over 10 years driving the transport van for the Batavia Veterans Administration.

Alexander will be missed by his friends at Kelly's Holland Inn in Batavia.

Survivors include one son, Fred (Beverly) Krywy of Jamestown; two grandchildren,  Amanda Krywy and William Krywy, both of Jamestown; one brother,  John (Pat) Krywy of Spencerport; one sister, Betty (Frank) Loncz of Stafford; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Sam) Myers of Fairport and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his wife, Barbara Krywy and sisters, Sophia McClurg and Mary Muskoph.  

Calling hours are Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street, Batavia, where services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m.  Burial with full military honors will be in Grandview Cemetery, Batavia.
