Mr. Richard Anthony Rodon

Oakfield - Richard Anthony Rodon, of Oakfield, a self-employed engineer, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at The New York State Veteran's Home, in Batavia.

Mr. Rodon was born in Batavia, a son of the late Martin and Mary Macougski Rodon.

A member of St. Padre Pio Parish in Elba and the American Legion Post No. 332 in Batavia, he was a graduate of Batavia High School and the University of Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science Degree in physics. Until his retirement, he worked as a contract engineer specializing in government contracts. He traveled extensively for both work and pleasure.

He is survived by his wife, Florence Ann Panek Rodon; his brother, Anthony (Barbara) Rodon of Florida; his sister, Barbara (Joe) DeFazio of Batavia; his sister-in-law, Dorothy Allen of Elba and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

There are no prior visiting hours. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Padre Pio Parish - Elba Site, 65 South Main Street, Elba.  He will be laid to rest in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Oakfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elba Fire Department, P.O. Box 58, Elba, New York 14058 or the Oakfield Fire Department, P.O.
