Patricia A. Sewert

  Patricia A. Sewert, 86, of Stafford passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Wednesday September 13, 2017. She was born on February 1, 1931 in Buffalo to the late Martin and Irma (Tubbs) Riffe.  Patricia is predeceased by her husband Elmer A. Sewert, a Batavia High School teacher who passed in 1982; siblings James Riffe,  Mary Dodge and Winifred Springer.

Patricia retired from the New York State for the Blind in 1995, where she known as Audio Pat. Besides being a loving wife and mother, Pat was a member of several organizations. She bowled in a ladies league and organized their lunches, was a member of the Stafford Red hat Ladies and helped Friends of the Richmond Memorial Library with the monthly book sales. One of her most favorite hobbies was looking at pictures from by the clouds.

She is survived by her children; Peter (Ann) Sewert of Stafford, twin daughters Susan and Cynthia Sewert both of Batavia; granddaughter Carrie (Mark Hanna) Sewert and great grandson Jaxon Hanna along with several loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call from 4:00-7:00PM on Saturday September 16, 2017 at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, New York 14020. A 2:00PM Funeral Service will be held on Sunday September 17, 2017 at Morganville United Church of Christ 8466 Morganville Rd, Stafford, NY 14143. She will be laid to rest in Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Corfu.
