Mildred I. Marble

Mildred I. Marble, 79, of Corfu, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday (October 17, 2017).

She was born on November 5, 1937 in East Pembroke, a daughter of the Erwin and Dorothy Wall Slater.

Millie was a retired Postmaster of East Pembroke where she served for 17 years. She was a member of the Cornerstone Church of East Pembroke where she sang in the choir and served on many committees. She was a Life Member of the East Pembroke Fire Department Auxiliary where she was past President and also held many other offices. Millie was a member of NAPUS and NARFE. She enjoyed traveling with her daughters, crocheting, knitting, sewing and bowling.

Millie was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Lyle E. Marble, who died in 1997, with whom she and their daughters traveled with while he served in the United States Army. She was the sister of the late Jane Slater, June Slater Culmo and Dean (last Ruth) Slater.

She is survived by two daughters: Michal (Gordon) Petty of Corfu and Candi (Brian) Fite of Fulton; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, with another expected in January; her brother-in-law Peter Culmo of Florida and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Thursday, October 19th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the C. B. Beach & Son Mortuary, Inc., 4 East Main Street, Corfu. Funeral services will be held at the Cornerstone Church of East Pembroke, 2583 Main Road in East Pembroke at 11a.m on Friday, October 20th. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, East Pembroke. Memorials may be made to the church or to the donors choice.
