   "Mrs. P." "Mrs. Pixley", devoted mother, grandmother, mom to many more and friend to all, died suddenly Sunday morning July 26, 2015 at her home in Basom. Born May 20, 1944, in Batavia, NY, to Celia (Slominski) Ratulowski of Batavia and the late Aloysius Ratulowski.

   Jean worked for over 30 years at Chapin Manufacturing, was a cake decorator for many area weddings and was an avid painter with amazing artistic ability. She was a member of Resurrection Parish, enjoyed knitting, gardening, cooking and had a true love of animals, especially her four legged buddy, "Chewie." Jean's family will remember her for the wonderful caregiver she was, compassionate was and always there to lend a hand to help or ear to listen.

   Surviving along with her mother is her husband of 17 years, William R. Metz, Sr. of Basom; beloved children, James (Maryann) Pixley and their children, Patrick & Justin; Shawn (Julie) Pixley; Kimberly (Timothy) Shea and their son, Ryan all of Batavia; step-children, Melissa (Michael) Grasso of Rushford and their children, Mackenzie, Meredith and Mason; William R. (Amy) Metz, Jr. and children, Devin, Kyle, Kaylee, Jason (Andrea), Matt, Donny (Amber); 1 step-great grandchild; sister, Gloria (Monty) Andrews; brother, Ron (Kathy) Ratulowski all of Batavia along with several nieces and nephews.

   The family will be present from 4-8 PM on Thursday July 30 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4120 WEST MAIN STREET ROAD BATAVIA, NEW YORK 14020 where funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday July 31. She will be laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery and memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
