Karen L. Hoak

Batavia - Karen L. Hoak, 70, of Batavia, passed away Tuesday, (April 17, 2018) at her home, in Batavia.  She was under the care of HomeCare & Hospice, her family, and the Crossroads House End-of-Life Doulas.

Ms. Hoak was born August 19, 1947 in Buffalo, a daughter of the late Raymond and Lena (Constantino) Kowalski.

Karen was a special education teacher for her entire working career. She adopted rescue cats, was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Hoak of Batavia; grandchildren, Mica Leah Pitcher and Addison Pitcher.  She is also survived by cousins, relatives and friends along with her beloved cat, Sophie.

There will be no prior visitation.  Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossroads House, P.O.
