James A. Starr

Pavilion ~ James A. Starr, age 70, of Dillon Road, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning (July 10, 2018) at home surrounded by his loving family.

    

He was born November 12, 1947 in Batavia, a son of the late George and Isabelle Rudgers Starr.

     Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, as well as a dear friend to many.  He was a heavy equipment operator for many years.  After his retirement from the construction business, Jim took over the family farm and operated that for 22 years.  He was an avid bowler and participated in the Friday night Pavilion bowling league for over 40 years.  He also enjoyed working around his shop and restoring vintage cars.

     He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 51 years, Deborah Wellman Starr; his daughters, Mary Lynn Cowell (Don Carney) and Kate (Dave) Ficarella; grandchildren, Christine Cowell, Rebecca Cowell, Jack Carney, Joseph Carney, Alex Dills and Ben Dills; great-grandson, Isaac Coughlin; mother-in-law, Betty A. Wellman; brothers, Mike Starr and Randy (Cindy) Starr, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.  He was also predeceased by his brother, William Starr.

     Family and friends may call on Saturday from 2 ~ 4 P.M. at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Rd. (Rt.19), LeRoy, where his Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 P.M.  Interment in the Pavilion Cemetery will be private.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Pavilion Fire Dept.
