William F. O'Neil

  William F. “Wild Bill” O’Neil, 85, of Attica lost his courageous battle with cancer on July 13, 2018. He was born on May 14, 1933 in Alexander on the family farm to the late Edward and Anna (Pundt) O’Neill. In addition to his parents, Bill is predeceased by his loving wife; Dorann (Rood) O’Neil; sisters Helen Deja, Mary Vanas, Ruth Lehnis and Dorothy Baker.

William was a United States Army Veteran. He worked for 30 years at Westinghouse in Attica and was a Village Police officer for over 20 years. He loved woodworking and was handy at fixing just about anything that was broken around the house. He enjoyed hunting in his earlier days and was known for his marksmanship. Bill was an honorary Criminologist for the American Police Hall of Fame.

He is the beloved father of:  Faith (Ed) Badhorn of Clarence; Connie (Chris) Beck of NM; siblings Margaret Meyer of Corfu, Anne “Totie” Smith of Tonawanda, Francis O’Neil of Batavia, Charles (Judith) O’Neil of Batavia, Edward (Sharon) O’Neil Jr. of NC and Marcella (Anthony) Saracini of Batavia; grandchildren Chloe (Jesse) Puschek of East Amherst, Claire Badhorn of Clarence, Chelsey Beck of NM and Cameron Beck of CO along with several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday July 18, 2018 from 4:00-8:00PM at Marley Funeral Home, LLC. 135 Main Street Attica, New York 14011. An 11:00AM Funeral Service will be held on Thursday July 19th at the Funeral Home. Bill will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery in Attica.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Attica Fire Dept. 11 Water St in Attica.
