Gus grew up in Darien Center the 5th child of 7 surviving children, with family meaning everything to him.  He lived most of his life there until 2006 when he moved to Attica, NY, and acquired his sister June’s and brother-in-law Don’s 57 acre homestead which allowed him to live his life’s passion for hunting and fishing.  He graduated from Alexander Central School and received his Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Brockport.  He served honorably in the US Navy from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean Conflict, and worked for many years for defense contractors including Sylvania, Bell Aerospace and Sierra Research, retiring in 1991.
