Rev. Kirk V.C. Katner, age 66, of Perry died on Wednesday August 19, 2015 at his home.
He was born in Bath, New York on April 16, 1949 a son of the late Theodore J. and Eileen M. (Dolliver) Katner.

Kirk was a 1967 graduate of Haverling High School, Corning Community College and graduated with his Masters degree from SUNY Geneseo. He worked as a salesman for 39 years at Rochester Optical, and was currently the Priest at the Holy Apostles Episcopal Church in Perry for 5 years.
He was a member of the Perry Area Ministers Association in Perry, and a former member of the Perry Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed gardening, reading, he was the master at the grill, loved his cats, he loved science fiction whether it be on TV or in a book, an avid history buff, especially in the Civil War and World War I and II. He and his wife enjoyed do –it-yourself projects in remodeling their home.

He is survived by his wife: Anne E. (Nye) Katner whom he married on June 20, 1970, a daughter: Cheri Katner of Orlando, Fl., son Todd Katner of Warsaw, grandson: Dylan Katner of Port St. Lucie, Fl., sister: Karen (Dave) Sorensen of Horseheads, brother: Kris (Lisa) Katner of Abilene, Tx., sister-in-law: Carol Grossman of Andover, 2 brothers-in-law: Bruce (Sheilagh) Nye of Myrtle Beach, S.C, and Lyle (Nancy) Nye of Machias, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Sunday August 23rd at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 North Main St. in Perry.  A Memorial Service will be held on Monday August 24, 2015 at 11:00am at the First United Methodist Church 35 Covington St. Perry.
