Ervin A. Niles

Ervin A. Niles, age 81, of Castile, died on Monday August 24, 2015 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Ervin was born in Rushford, New York on July 4, 1934 a son of the late George and Bernadean (Lee) Niles.  Along with his parents he is preceded in death by a sister: Eleanor (James) Organski.

Ervin was a farmer most of his life. He owned and operated the Shado lawn Dairy farm in Delevan from 1952-1976. He relocated to Castile where he became a field manager for Vigortone, winning many awards and trips. He also owned and operated Castile Radiator Shop while running Shado Lawn Strawberry Farm which developed into Shado Lawn Farm Market. In the fall the market became an attraction to many for the Pumpkin Tree he put together. He retired from Bow Hill Farm in Wyoming.
He was a member of the Holstein Friesian Association and was a state officer for the Eastern Artificial Breeders Association. He was an accomplished woodworker. He enjoyed playing guitar and being with his family.

He is survived by his wife Marie (Cady) Niles, children: Douglas (Ellen) Kelsey of Austin TX., Joshua (Sandra) Kelsey of Boynton Beach Fl., Peggy Gilbert of Arcade, Laurie (Ron) Falconer of Arcade, Michael (Margo Doughty) Niles of Perry, Nancy (Joseph) Cappadonia of Castile, siblings: Bernice (Raymond) Burdick of Canaseraga, Gladys Price of Perry, Amy (Duke) Bowman of Wyoming, Melvin (Marcia) Niles of Perry , Marvin (Ann) Niles of Warsaw, Pearl (Joseph) Eliasz of New Egypt, NJ, In-laws: Peg (Louis) Germann of Cheektowaga, John (Bonnie) Cady of Ellicottville, Michael (Patricia) Cady of Elton, Dorothy Krucynski of East Aurora, Randy (Maryann) Cady of SC.,11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends may call from 7-9pm on Friday August 28th and on Saturday August 29th from 9-11am at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 North Main St. in Perry where services will follow at 11am. He will be laid to rest in Siloam Cemetery in Freedom.
