Elizabeth A. Harrington

Elizabeth A. Harrington, 66 of Akron, passed away peacefully on Friday (October 2, 2015) at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Williamsville.

She was born June 21, 1949, daughter of the late Roland and Ruth Schumacher Laese.

Elizabeth was formerly employed as an L.P.N. for the Erie County Home and Infirmary prior to her retirement. She was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion Auxiliary  in Akron. She enjoyed reading, shuffleboard, crocheting and NASCAR racing, where her favorite racer was Dale Earnhardt, Jr.. She was a very humorous individual and enjoyed being with her grandchildren, especially her grandson Isaac whose football games she would attend regularly. 

She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Harrington who died in 2009 and son, James Groff.

Survivors include her sons, John Groff and Raymond (Jennifer) Groff of Akron. Daughter, Laurie (Eric) Schmidt of Akron. Daughter in-law, Elizabeth Groff of South Carolina. Grandchildren, Vincent Groff, Kristin Groff, Jacob Groff, Ian Groff and Isaac Schmidt. Brothers, Richard (Anne) Laese of Florida and Albert (Andi) Laese of Ohio.

Family and friends are invited to share thoughts, condolences and fond memories on Sunday (October 4th) from 4-7pm at the J. LEONARD MCANDREW FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 32 John St., Akron, NY. A funeral service will be Monday 1:00pm at the funeral home.
