The Batavia Ramparts held their 3rd annual Collin Crane Memorial Hockey Tournament this morning at Falleti Ice Arena, with all proceeds benefiting the Collin Crane Memorial Scholarship fund.

Collin was an avid hockey player who died in an auto accident in December of 2012.

The event included three hockey games, an open skate, pizza, hotdogs and drinks along with prizes, an auction and raffle.

Falleti Ice Arena today hosted a fundraiser for the Collin Crane Memorial Fund.

The fund provides scholarships to deserving local hockey players. This was the second year for the fundraiser, which honors the memory of Collin Crane, a Batavia teen killed in an auto accident in December 2012.

The event featured a full day of hockey, including a match involving a team comprised of Crane's teammates, as well as a chance auction.

After their game, members of Crane's team held a pray for their teammate.

Second Annual Collin Crane Memorial Scholarship fundraiser at Falletti Ice Rink

The Second Annual Collin Crane Memorial event to raise money to help young hockey players is at 9 a.m. Saturday March 15 at Falleti Ice Rink, located at 22 Evans St. in the City of Batavia.

The scholarship fund helps pay fees for Ramparts hockey when a child's family is financially strapped.

There will be basket raffles for a Chinese auction, including special raffle items such as autographed sports memorabilia and gift certificates, 50/50, a bake sale and concessions.

The Batavia Ramparts are presenting the Collin Crane Memorial ice skating event on Saturday, March 16, at the Falleti Ice Arena on Evans Street in the City of Batavia.

Schedule:

1 to 2:20 p.m. -- Open Memorial Skate -- with free skating and skate rentals
2:30 p.m. -- Mite Tournament (Mite sponsors are Max Pies, West Main Wine and Spirits, Cornerstone Abstract, South Side Deli)
4:40 p.m. -- Midget A Rampart Exhibition Game vs. MOHL

Food from Clor's Meat Market will be available, including pulled pork, turkey, and beef sandwiches.

There will be raffles and gift baskets. All proceeds will be used to establish a hockey scholarship in Collin's name.

$50 dinner and free play at Batavia Downs

Seventeen-year-old Collin Crane, of Batavia, died in a two-car head-on collision on Dec. 8 on Route 33 in the Town of Stafford. A 49-year-old woman was seriously injured in the accident.
