house fire-Bethany
House falling down next door!
This is a picture of a condemned house that is next door to me on Fisher Road in Oakfield. The walls are falling in, the roof is seperating from the house. On the side facing my house, there is NO siding and a HUGE hole that if you look closely, you can acutally see into the house. The weeds are approaching 7ft tall on all sides. My family, which includes a 2 year old and a 8 month old, cannot go outside at dusk because 1000's of bats come out of the run down house and swoop at us. The bats are running out of room apparantly becuase they are now trying to squeeze behind my shutters. There are rats and stray cats living inside the house, under their porch. Also, there are probably 100 bees nests surrounding the house. If in fact the house does cave in, it will land in my yard. The house has power lines attached to the power pole that sits in my yard. The gentleman that owns the house comes out probably once every few months to mow, but doesnt weed those huge weeds that are growing. I have contacted the local Health Department last year and they tell me becuase there is not garbage on the outside they cant do anything. Im extremely worried about the bats. Obviously they carry rabies, and so does their droppings so I'm constantly on alert with my childen who cannot play in their own yard becuase of rodents, bees, and other creatures inhabiting the house. If you know of anything I can do, please share.
South Byron Fire Claims Dog

The fire broke out approx 8:30 am this morning after the couple left their home for work. I spoke with Wendy Frongetta one of the owners of the home at 6323 East Main St. South Byron. Wendy spoke of the loss of her Dog "Frank" he was the sweetest 7yr. old pit-bull that they loved who did not escape the fire. Heavy fire damage claimed about 80 percent of the home. No other injuries were reported and cause is yet to be determined pending investigation. Many fire crews were on the scene putting out the blaze.
