Yesterday, we bought a birdbath at Pudgie's, and it's already a big hit with the neighborhood birds. I think the one on the right is saying, "Hey, quit hogging up the bath! Can't you see there are others waiting?"

Late this afternoon, Chris Hamel and his friend James Bonning were on the Tonawanda at the falls fishing.

I often drive by the Skate park off Evans Street on my way home and think -- I should take some pictures there, but usually, the skaters just seem to be milling about. Today, they were doing some jumps, so I thought this might be a good photo opportunity.

I met Moosie Gard, Isaiah Munroe (above), Dimetrious Williams, Justin Barton and Mike Leon. 

Leon wasn't doing a lot of skating while I was there, but the other four are featured in the shots after the jump:

This last photo is Moosie. After I finished taking my shots, I went to collect their names and couldn't help but notice Moosie's striking eyes. I asked him about them and he said they're contacts. He said he has a whole collection of different color lenses.

I was down in Pavilion today and on the way back I took a few photos.

Above is a horse on Mill Road. 

I love driving along the creek next to Mill Road. There's always wildlife around.  Unfortunately, the bird pictures I tried to capture today didn't turn out.

The Don Cummings Memorial Antique and Vintage Snowmobile Show was at the Batavia fairgrounds  this year because it's outgrown its former location in Alexander. Proceeds benefited Mercy Flight.

There's a horse show going on at Batavia Downs. Riders from all over the northeast are in Batavia to test their skills and display their handsome mounts. If you've missed it, the show continues Sunday at 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

I've passed this barn many times thinking I need to get a picture.  Today, I did.  It's at the junction of Route 63 and Bethany Center Road -- either in Bethany or Batavia, not sure which town.

Today, Pachuco went for a walk in Genesee County Park -- great place to walk with a dog and a camera.

I happened to be out to Lei-Ti Campground (on Francis Road, Batavia) this morning and while there strolled over to the miniature golf course and snapped these two pictures.

The location I found to get a shot of the State Police on the Thruway was at the end of Westbrook Road, which is where I also found this small, but nice old barn.

A tree fell into a home on Kibbe Avenue. Witnesses said a limb pierced straight through the roof into the closet of a bedroom. One person was home, but nobody was hurt.

The fence in front of the old Christina's Restaurant location on Ellicott Street was blown down. Genesee Dispatch reached owner Chuck Brumstead, who reportedly said nothing could be done about it until Sunday.

A tree came down on this car on Vine Street.

City crews had a lane of traffic closed throughout most of the morning and into mid-day for unknown repairs at Ellicott and Jackson streets.

The Downtown Batavia Carnival continued on Saturday, so we have more pictures from this afternoon. Sunday is the final day and it runs from 1 to 5 p.m.

Workers were in the field of Root Brothers Farm in Oakfield this morning removing rocks. Here Armando Luna hauls away a bucket full.

This evening at the carnival, I thought I should get a picture of the midway from a rooftop, and when I saw Steve Valle in front of Valle Jewelers, I asked him if I could borrow his rooftop. We got up there just in time to see the entire flock of gulls on the Latina's roof take flight (unfortunately, none of those shots really turned out). Steve allowed me to hang out a bit longer as the sun set, and eventually, I got this shot.

It was a day for hanging out in the sun at Glass Roots on Center Street today. Jen Fountain of Batavia was having fun with a hula-hoop. She said, "I just learned today and now I can't stop."
