Guy trying to bust down front door on Hutchins Street

By Billie Owens

A man is attempting to bust down the front door of a woman's house at 13 Hutchins St. in the City of Batavia. Police are responding.

When incidents fade to silence on the scanner, it's usually a pretty safe bet it turned out to be nothing like it originally sounded. If it were anything serious, there would be more chatter. If that isn't the case, we'll usually find out eventually what was going on. If there's no more updates on something like this within 24 to 48 hours, it's pretty safe to assume it was a lot less than the original call made it sound like.

Or to quote Scott DeSmit: "Massive fire on Main Street, thousands die. ... Oh, never mind, just burnt toast." (not precise quote since the column is no longer available online)

Judge Noonan refuses to issue personal protection carry pistol permits. He doesn't want her or anyone else to be able to keep protection on the hip. People in Genesee county have to keep a shotgun handy within the home, which we all know might not be a good idea if little kids are in that home. A shotgun is the best home defense, however. A 20 gauge loaded with Federal personal defense ammo (2-3/4" #4 Shot) will stop just about any threat within a home without your neighbors having to worry.

Hey Doug - THANKS for SAYING that. I've had EXACTLY that in my house for YEARS, just in case (I used to hunt, but haven't in a long time) - and the few people I've told about it acted as if I was nuts for having it in my house. You just eased ALL guilt I had about it. THANK YOU !!!!!
