Hawley offers ways to access state tax forms

By Billie Owens

Press release:

As the deadline to file federal and state taxes approaches on April 17, Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C,I-Batavia) is helping residents navigate the often cumbersome state tax filing system by providing ways to access forms and instructions.

“There are many citizens who choose to file federal and state taxes themselves instead of going to a tax preparer or using an online program,” Hawley said. “Unfortunately, the tax rules, regulations and method by which we are required to file are often confusing and complicated.

"The state should be consistently assisting residents with tax preparation and working on ways to clarify this burden. Residents can pick up tax forms at my district office by emailing or calling ahead of time.”

To access IT-201 Tax Forms and Instructions:

*Residents are encouraged to pick up tax forms at Hawley’s district office by emailing hawleys@nyassembly.gov or calling (585) 589-5780 ahead of time.

Hawley says... "Unfortunately, the tax rules, regulations and method by which we are required to file are often confusing and complicated." Interesting. Perhaps Mr. Hawley should contact his Assemblyman and demand that a change be made to make the system less confusing and complicated.

It would be refreshing to see Hawley deliver something for the residents of his District for once instead of just pointing out all the things that are wrong with NY. How about a few less puff piece press releases and a few pieces of positive legislation??

Scott,

We get it, you don't like Steve Hawley. and take every opportunity to criticize him, even when he puts out a positive press release.

Did you mean to say, "Perhaps Mr. Hawley should contact his Assemblyman and demand that a change be made to make the system less confusing and complicated?"

Steve Hawley is the Assemblyman for the 139 District, his Assembly District.

Are you suggesting that Steve Hawley call himself-joking? Is that like taking a selfie, and then e-mailing the photo as an attachment to your cell phone-joking? I'm thinking one of those Fisher Price Telephones with a rotary dial-still joking. The one where the eyes move when you dial them-still joking.
