The Historical Society of Elba would like to thank all of our sponsors for the 6th Annual Barn Dance that was held Saturday, October 17. Thank you all for your generous donations. 6th Annual Barn Dance

Historical Society of Elba 6th Annual Barn Dance. Saturday, October 17, at Torrey's Barn, 7411 Route 98, east side, about 2 miles south of Elba, music beginning at 5 p.m. with Tradional Country, followed by Dennis Rowcliffe with Tom Hare and then the Front Porch Pickers. At 7 p.m. the Kelly's Old Timers will begin with round and square dancing. Refreshment's available, FREE coffee/tea/cocoa, $6.00 adults admission, student's $3.00, 5 and under FREE. Hay Bales for seating or bring your own chair.

SUNY Cobleskill

Rebecca Vlack, daughter of Ed and Amy Vlack of Elba, has been named to the President's List for the Fall 2014 semester at SUNY Cobleskill. Matriculated students achieving a semester average of 4.0 are named to the President's List.

Rebecca is a Freshman at Cobleskill studying Plant Science and Horticulture.

The State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill has a rich academic tradition that spans nearly 100 years. Today, over 2,500 students are enrolled in the 52 associate and baccalaureate degree programs offered through The School of Agriculture and Natural Resources and The School of Business and Liberal Arts & Sciences.

Inaugural Rt. 98 Museum Crawl

Crawl through local history. Visit the Holland Land Office Museum, Historical Society of Elba Museum, DAR House in Albion, the Cobblestone Museum in Childs and the Oak Orchard Lighthouse Museum on Point Breeze (all along scenic Route 98.)

The cost is $5.00 per person or $10 for a family which is admission to all five participating museums. Passports (tickets) will be available at all of the museums, Chap's Elba Diner and Bindings Bookstore in Albion. Have your passport stamped at all of the museums and receive a certificate redeemable at one of many participating local establishments.

The Music Man

Adults $6.00, students under 18 $3.00

Performances by the Elba High School Jazz Ensemble and Kelly's Old Timers

Jazz Dessert

The Elba Central School Jazz Ensemble is holding a "Jazz Dessert" on Friday, April 29 at 7:00 pm in the ECS cafeteria. Cost is $5.00 which includes the music, a dessert and beverage. They are hoping to raise funds to purchase new Jazz Ensemble uniforms. Come on out and have some dessert and listen to some really good music. What better thing to do on a Friday night.

Chicken Barbecue

The Historical Society of Elba is holding a "Clor's Chicken Barbecue" on Sunday, April 10 at the museum on Maple Ave Extension in Elba. This is a "take-outs" only barbecue starting at 11:30 am. Cost is $8.50 per dinner.
