Indian Falls

By Bea McManis

Had lunch at the Log Cabin at Indian Falls.

Huge fish fry...way too much, had to bring half home.

Bea, they are good photos. Water looks refreshing. I heard the Log Cabin had great fish fries. Thinking about taking my fiancee to it one evening.

New owners took over ownership this past January. They have BBQ rack of ribs done on a outside grill with a very cool Blues group every Monday night.

We are going to be free on Monday nights starting next week. Definitely will make plans to make it there if it goes on after Labor Day.
We were there about 3 in the afternoon. A few tables on the porch were filled and the dining room was empty. Good time to go to avoid a crowd.
My only complaint, and it was remedied immediately, was the music was way too loud for an empty room. Very difficult to carry on a conversation.
The menu has a brief history of Indian Falls which is a fun read while waiting for the meal.
All in all, every time we go there, we have a wonderful experience.

Janice and Lori...first - what the heck are you both doing up at this hour???
Second...we'll have to plan a lunch there someday, we'll call it The Batavian Lunch :)
I've yet to have a bad meal there.

Hi everybody...Nice pics Bea...
We went there on our anniversary... the end of June..

we were out in the over flow area which has 2 tables in front of the windows and other seating..the food is GREAT!
Till my husband said LOOK there r some kids jumping off from the rocks... then everyone who heard it was trying to see out the window..then I said look there is a well walked path.... it's neighbor kids...I bet they have been doing it for years...now if u don't mind I'd like to finish my meal it's our anniversary..some people felt so bad they bought us a round...:)

ck it out...and if u want a fish fry get there early around 3... before the rush..as they always run out of fish and sometimes an hour wait for a table

Have a Great Week-End !

As a kid I remember jumping from rock to rock just above the falls. The rocks were slippery and there was always the chance of falling in. We would sit on the big flat rock and dangle our feet in the cold water. On a hot day, it was heaven.

When I look at it now, I can't believe our parents ever allowed us (my cousins and I) to do that.

If you do visit the Log Cabin, for the first time or returning after a long spell, remember to tell them you read about it in TheBatavian.

Karen, regarding getting all three pictures on one page, chalk it up to dumb luck. :)

I used to tube that creek up and down Indian Falls area. Always stopped before little falls after death of a Palidino and some others canoeing.

As a kid I remember jumping off the top of the falls and doing swan dives out of the tree top across the creek......crazy days.
The resturant has a great reputation for a good plate of food, good selection and frendly servers.

Ron,
I mentioned that while we were watching the falls on Friday. My daring boy cousins doing exactly that.
They had to be out of their minds.
