Candidates Forum: Chris Charvella and Hollis Upson

I was somewhat taken aback when Hollis admitted he had no clue what the posters, on one of the sponsors of this opportunity to speak to the electorate, were discussing.
While, I'm sure he is a very busy man one would think that he would take a moment to see what thebatavian.com was all about and what people, who would be watching his video, were discussing.
Chris is a regular contributor to this site. He has addressed serious issues as well as sharing in the lighter moments.
Chris mentioned knocking on doors and meeting the people in the district. I waited for Hollis to come back with stories of his own regarding meeting the people in his district. None were forthcoming.

I agree Bea. Chris seems much more in touch with the people. Hollis made it clear that his first allegiance is to the county rather than his constituents. Chris, and Rosemary in her interview, made it very clear that we come first. Best of luck to both of them.

That county first mentality, isn't going to win you a lot of votes. It was pretty clear Hollis was out of his element.

I just didn't understand how someone would not take the time to learn what people were discussing on this site. We are an integral part of the online audience that co-sponsored that event.
I didn't understand why Hollis didn't come back with examples of how he connects with people in his district.
While the entire county is the concern of all legislators, one would think that he would have a few he could relate after eight years.
Where was Hollis the morning after the program? Chris already told us, on the program, that he would be visiting one of Hollis' constituents to help with a paperwork problem.
