Fundraiser planned to help family who's teen son died last month

By Howard B. Owens

Scott "Scotty" R. Johnson was found dead by his parents in his Oakfield home May 25.

He was 19.

His mother is a waitress at Settlers Family Restaurant and friends Sunday, June 14, at 1 p.m. to help raise money to help with expenses, and particularly provide Johnson with a headstone.

The car wash will be held in front of Billy Goats, 345 W. Main St.

Donations will also be accepted.

I worked with his mom, and cant imagine her grief. Thats why pics are so important. They capture moments, and memories. To Scott's family, I am very sorry for your loss, and hope you find some comfort in knowing he is with Jesus now.

My niece was friends with Scotty for several years and I have seen what his friends have been going through this has hit the OA community especially hard.

The community definately needs to come out on Sunday and support this fundraiser, the family has already been through enough and this is one of the hardest parts is that they can't afford to put the headstone up that Scotty deserves. Even if you only have $2 to give it will be put to good use imagine being in their situation, and how you would feel.

To the family and friends of Scotty I am so sorry for your loss he will always be remembered in our community.
