Police Beat: Obscene language and name calling leads to disorderly conduct charge

Michael Joseph Raphael, 20, of 4 Noonan Ave., Batavia, is charged with disorderly conduct. Raphael was arrested yesterday at 5:17 p.m. for allegedly using obscene language and calling another person a name.

A 17-year-old from Darien Center was arrested by State Police arrested and charged with assault and menacing in the third degree. The alleged incident was reported Dec. 4 at 11:27 a.m. No further details were released.

Some times I wonder at some of the calls on the scanner -- and I think about the sidewalk-snow-shoveling poll ... and I think, there's just a lot of people these days that expect the government to solve their problems.

Howard i agree,Seems like all a bunch of immature children..Why do the police even bother..Just like the guy the other day who flipped off the cop.The cop got mad and arrested him.How thin skinned the cop was.Is that all the police are good for..These people never grew up.Still thinking the world owes them something..

Actually, Mark, assuming the charge is true, and the version I got is true, I can't blame the cop in that situation. As an ex-cop, I totally understand, you can't let people disrespect you in public. Must maintain that aura of authority. It's a safety issue.
