Today's Poll: Is the rent too damn high?

Is the rent too damn high?

As a karate expert, I'd have to agree that the rent is too DAMN high. Also, if we eliminate the rent control board all of our problems will cure themselves...like cancer.

John, I'm just repeating what Jimmy Mcmillan said. Around here I'm not sure there is much of a rent problem (I myself don't rent). In NYC though, I'd assume it's a different story.

If da rent is too damn high, you're living outside your means. Either get a 2nd job to make up the difference, learn a skill that pays a better wage, buy a house and stop renting or find a more affordable place to rent.

If women can't afford to take care of their children or afford to feed them, either keep baby-daddy (daddys) around and make sure he has a JOB or even better yet, don't have kids in the first place.

I don't see too many kids these days who look like their stomach growls too often. Most kids eat so much that the biggest threat to their health is diabetes.

Lastly, if you can't afford to feed your kids, your rent is probably being paid for by people who work and pay taxes so STFU already.

Fair warning..this is not politically correct by any sense of the meaning and it contains profanity. If you're easily offended and can't handle a little stereotypical humor with a sprinkling of truth in it, don't click the video.

Paul, I practice Fat-Fu. It's an ancient Chinese style where you train by eating cheeseburgers and smoking a pack a day. The iron-man portion of the training involves watching hockey and drinking beer.

Easily offended, Doug? I'm not easily offended, but the video is not funny at all. I'm asking you politely if you would please take it down. It is racist in all senses of the word. I like irreverent and off-color humor, this is just totally over the top though. McMillan is nutty, fringe and flamboyant to be sure, but I don't think he ever did any prison time as the video suggests. He is, however a decorated Vietnam Veteran who suffers from the effects of Agent Orange and PTSD. I know people who also have that poison in their bodies. You can disagree with him, you can call him nuts and crazy, he's kinda asked for that but I won't let you ridicule him without challenge. The man put his life on the line for this ungrateful and unfair nation for 2 tours in a crappy hellhole jungle. Don't make him out to be scumbag.

It's a shame when something as important as a political debate, designed to help us decide the on the future leader of our state sinks to the level of a SNL skit.

I enjoy a good laugh as much (if not more) than the next guy. I just don't think the state of our state in 2010 has any laughable components.

The level of competency in Albany is too DAMN low.

Dave, I know his history from reading about it. I didn't ridicule him at all. The video is humor poked at many things and of course there are some inaccurate embellishments in there. I warned you not to watch it if it might offend you. The disclaimer absolves me of you being offended by it since you chose to watch it. You didn't have to click on it.

Brother Wease did 3 tours in Viet Nam, has made huge contributions to his community and to charity. I don't hear him whining when everyone wants to bash him and attack his character for his faults.

Everyone and everything is made fun of or ridiculed at some point. That doesn't mean anyone is ungrateful or thankless.

This guy is hilarious, but it gets even better. Seems has hasn't paid his own rent in the last 8 to 10 years and is not even a member of his own party, he is a registered Democrat.
