Today's Poll: Is your household prepared for an emergency?

We had a plan when I was a kid. It made sense then, but with just two adults, who are usually in the same room, it seems like a plan is overkill.

Oh yeah, now I remember that. We had a plan during the cold war, when I was a kid, too. "Put your hands around your head, put your head between your legs, and kiss your arse goodbye." We got it from Mad Magazine and it is still as pertinent and useful today as it was back then, just like Dear Abby.

How about this Howard:
Could you survive a one month unpaid layoff, on your savings alone, if your employer would go under otherwise?
I'm saying 40% Yes, 60% No.
No government assistance allowed. Just yes or no on savings. Any assistance would be socialism. Are you prepared?

George, good question:"Could you survive a one month unpaid layoff, on your savings alone, if your employer would go under otherwise?
I'm saying 40% Yes, 60% No."

I'll bet if people are honest,it's more like 20% yes,80 No
