New restaurant will open on Main Street

By Philip Anselmo

Larry's Steakhouse is set to open this Thursday for lunch and dinner. Larry's is located at 60 Main Street, attached to the Genesee Country Mall, with front-door access on Main Street.

We stopped by the restaurant today to wish them well and find out more about what they've got to offer. You can download the complete menu here. We also asked owner Steve Mullen if he could describe the place in a single sentence. He told us: "It's a great new dining experience with a very affordable menu." They've got everything from Guinness artichoke dip to marinated Mahi Mahi.

It's not hard to guess that steak is the specialty. Steve recommends the everyday steak special: a 14 ounce NY Strip, with a cup of chili or soup de jour, a salad and a side for $17.99.

It a little cramped in there even with the mural

Looks like some sort of southwest/midwest conference room lounge eatery

No other pics to go on but looks more like a place you're going for lunch or an early dinner ..mostly with friends/date/associates ..not your entire family

Entrees are a bit high for the appearance of the place ..esp being stuck in the dead mall. Cant shake the mall no matter how hard you try to distract from it
$16 for baked ziti?

I just don't see Batavia as the type of city that can support these "Hey, babe, wanna go somewhere more upscale and get something to eat while we're out" type of establishments

Calling somebody a troll amounts to a personal attack. We'd rather not have that here.

Calling somebody a troll is just another way of feeding a troll, if that person is indeed a troll.

If you don't like somebody who comments in an open forum like this, whether you think him or her a troll or not, the best thing to do is not respond.

A, I'm not defending anybody. B, attacking opinions is 100 percent A-OK. Attacking people is not.

In nearly 14 years of running online communities, I've found that many people can't stand having their opinions challenged and take it personally, but it's not personal at all when people disagree with you and state that disagreement in even sometimes forceful language.

Name calling, degrading another person's attributes, making the argument about a person rather than facts, issues or opinions doesn't help solve anything.

I'm pretty patient with some subtle stuff and generally only step in when it's flagrant, and in this case I just wanted to try and point out a better way of handling somebody whom you think is disruptive.

I tried to phrase things in a way not to point fingers at any one individual.

And for the record, I've deleted posts before for going -- in my judgment -- over the line. I won't say by whom, but they know who they are.

yeah i agree with howard, its a slippery slope but even if you get personally attacked you have to stick with the subject and not attack back.
Its a great website to express your opinions but once you get nasty towards an individual it really defeats the purpose.
We sometimes need a referee to make the playing field fair.

I will also try and keep it on topic and not get personal. Thanks Howard, this is a great and informative site. I've been deleted and was told why. Howard was very fair in his explaination to me. My apologies to anyone I might have offended.
