Poll: Farewell, Bush...

Thanks, Darrick. There are an awful lot of "Didn't listen to it" votes. I'll admit I didn't listen to the entire speech. But it's tough not to hear some of what he has to say. I mean, this guy has run our country for nearly a decade now. Like him or despise him, he's our representative to the world and our place marker in history.

A last ditch effort by an insecure and ineffective President to muster some gratuity as he leaves the White House.

I'm with the last option, he truly does make my ears bleed.

I didn't listen to it, because he really has nothing to say. If you notice very few people believe he speaks from the heart. He was a bad choice 8 years ago and history will agree. I don't believe his administration or his policies have made us safer. Just because we weren't attacked again after 9-11 doesn't mean it was OK to do the things he did. I understand starting a war in Iraq could have diverted people there who might otherwise have come here, but it was the wrong move. It could have been handled much differently. There are big messes to clean up, that Bush either caused or ignored and I hope the new President will point us in the right direction. I doubt it, Politics as usual probably. Anyway. he's got to be better than Bush was.
