Poll: The president on the stimulus

By Philip Anselmo

In the New York Times this morning, we read this of President Obama's appearance last night at a White House news conference:

The news conference was the centerpiece of an intense and highly orchestrated campaign by the administration to wrest control of the stimulus debate from Republicans and reframe it on Mr. Obama’s terms.

Did he succeed? Was it what he needed to do?

What did you think of President Obama's first news conference?

I guess Wall St. wasnt impressed with President Obama's Plan because the DOW closed down 383 today.
I thought Obamas speech and explaination was very good.
I think he was being honest about what he is trying to do and being very optimistic.
I really enjoyed the part when he mentioned how he felt about the republicans and their critisism towards his plan.

I liked when he said: "I didn't come in here ginned up to spend $800 billion". Not what he planned to do but it must be done. From what I read Wall Street closed down because Geitner didn't give enough specifics about the bailout plan.

The specifics cant be explained till there is a shot(in hell) that it will pass and Obama kept stating a compromise has to be reached meaning to me (It will be reduced and re distributed).

The seventy thirty is a great bet I am willing to take, and right now i think its worth a shot.

One thing that definately is refreshing is our new presidents personality !

Its the first hundred days and lots of the newly appointed cabinet members are still caught up in the "psst.. pssst new guy " from the "old washington".

I get a really good vibe off this guy !
