Kastenbaum knocks Collins for continued support of Donald Trump

By Howard B. Owens

Press release:

In a rally yesterday in Wilmington, N.C., Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump insinuated that “Second Amendment people,” take violent action against Hillary Clinton if they disliked her Supreme Court nomination. This remark came after Trump made claims that Clinton believes in abolishing the Second Amendment and would nominate a judge who would do so.

This isn’t the only time Trump and his supporters have advocated violence against Secretary Clinton as chants of “lock her up” pervade at all of his rallies.

Diana Kastenbaum, the Democratic candidate for NY27, says, “The amount of violence Mr. Trump incites seems to know no bounds. Trump’s remarks were not only hateful, but insulting as he reduced gun owners to no better than murderers.

"I'm sure Chris Collins is waiting in the wings for his next appearance on the networks and cable today to tell us how the liberal media and Democrats have once again misconstrued Mr. Trump’s statements. However, this is no joking matter and blatant threats, such as this, should be taken seriously.”

Whether he insinuated violence, or just getting out the vote, Trump and many of his followers obviously don't understand how the constitution works. Hillary Clinton could load the court with the most liberal of judges, and not be able to abolish the 2nd Amendment. An Amendment can only be repealed by the ratification of another Amendment.

Justin, but she could pick judges who would rule that the right to bare arms does not mean handguns, or does not mean you can carry one away from your home. She could pick judges who would OK "gun" taxes to own one.

Good point, John and she could, and most likely would appoint people to the ATF to define all semi-auto rifles in any configuration as assault rifles and make them illegal.

Somewhere I read that the Supreme Court "could" rule to allow individual states and/or cities to decide the conditions under which firearms could be possessed.

If that turns out to be the case, NY is screwed!

All I can tell the gun lobby is this, if there ever was a case where our govt. turned to tyranny, private citizens will not have enough firepower to defeat the military, I don't care what type of assault weapons the citizens have, which makes the whole argument somewhat silly on both sides of the fence.Bottom line is; if you put Clinton and Trump in bag and shook the snot out of it, you still wouldn't have the ingredients for a US president, sad, but true.I feel so bad for generations to come, either of these 2 idiots have the potential to screw this country up worse than GW did.Why don't someone tell trump that GW let the Iraqi military walk away fully armed, thus, the founder of ISIS, GW and his sidekick tricky dick cheney.
